The University of Twente is a public research university located in Enschede, The Netherlands. It offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in the fields of social sciences, natural sciences and particularly engineering sciences. The University of Twente is a leading player in the field of organs-on-chips, and has a strong focus on the multidisciplinary development of organ-on-chip technology. The university offers expertise and facilities for microtechnology, nanotechnology, sensor technology, materials science and microfluidics, as well as cell biology, molecular biology and stem cell technology in the context of its MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology and the Technical Medical Centre, respectively. The University of Twente is also a member of the Dutch national Human Organ and Disease Model Technologies (hDMT) Organ-on-Chip Consortium, as well as the Netherlands Organ-on-Chip Initiative (NOCI).
