Development of Defined Matrices for Next Generation OoC Systems
The aims of the project is to develop tuneable and chemically defined extracellular matrices with controllable biophysical properties suitable for integration into liver-on-a-chip models; to identify chemically defined 3D matrices that are suitable for both epithelial stem cell OoC culture and establishment of 3D blood-vessel-like networks; finally to integrate the novel 3D cell culture scaffolds in liver-on-a-chip models.
Planned secondments:
- LUMC, iPSC culture and endothelial cell differentiation and maintenance
- AlveoliX AG, application of developed materials in an industrial setting
