4. Project

Development of a microfludic-based OoC model as a device for modelling cellular therapy approaches

Our project aims at the development of a novel in vitro heart-on-chip model which enables functional and automated evaluation of cellular therapy products.

Therefore, we aim at

  • developing protocols for purification of pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiovascular cell-types in order to set up 3 D heart microtissues
  • biological evaluation of selected chip structures and establishment of non-invasive analytics of cellular function
  • evaluation of methods for transplantation of pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes to heart-on-chip tissues and non-invasive monitoring of transplant integrity and function
