Graz University of Technology, Austria

The Institute of Analytical Chemistry and Food Chemistry at the TU Graz is one of the leading institutions in the area of optical bio- and chemical sensor development and application. The sensor group around Prof. Ingo Klimant, Assoc. Prof. Sergey Borisov and Assoc. and Prof. Torsten Mayr have broad experience in optical sensing techniques, luminescence and photometric methods, and development of new sensors and applications in biotechnology, medical diagnostics, food and environmental analyses. This includes the miniaturization and integration of optical sensors, the application of integrated sensors in microfluidic systems and the development of nano- and micro-particle sensors. The group has published over 200 articles in peer-reviewed journal and hold over 50 patents. The group is actively involved in technology transfer in small and multi-national companies.
